SOARS is a regional ambassador symposium for the Orthopaedic Research Society. The symposium focuses on sharing research and building local collaborations between researchers and clinicians. SOARS is held in conjunction with the co-located annual Summit hosted by Summit Brain, Spine and Orthopedics, who graciously sponsor the excellent facilities at Sundance Resort for the symposium.
SOARS' poster session is a venue to share your current research with other local researchers and practitioners. Our attending clinicians provide valuable feedback and insights. Attendees enjoy learning about new and upcoming developments making this a dynamic and valuable experience for all.
SOARS is also a venue to share research leading to orthopedic-related innovation. Posters can showcase research developing new orthopedic devices or other related innovations that support spine and orthopedic care.

We would like to invite you to participate in our fifth annual SOARS regional symposium in conjunction with the 7th annual Summit at Sundance Resort.
It is time to get started preparing your research and submitting abstracts for the poster session!
Submissions will be accepted through this website from June 1, 2026 through August 21, 2026

We would love to have you participate in and attend the SOARS poster session! Registration for SOARS is free of charge, and you can register for SOARS without participating in the 2026 Summit.
Whether you are presenting, supporting a presenter, or interested in learning more about musculoskeletal research in our community we welcome you!

Conference registration for the 2026 Summit will be open early summer 2026. Registration and attendance at the SOARS poster session is free of charge for presenters and attendees. If you would like to additionally attend the full Summit conference, you are invited to do so as well. There is a charge for that conference if you choose to attend.

SOARS is co-sponsored by Summit Brain, Spine and Orthopedics, and is held in conjunction with their annual Summit. This connection allows an important overlap between the local clinical and research communities. We appreciate the support and collaboration between the two events and the opportunities for clinicians and researchers to connect.

SOARS is an official regional symposium in connection with the Orthopaedic Research Society. These regional meetings allow researchers in orthopedics to expand opportunities to collaborate with others in their region in a more intimate setting.

Dr. Anton Bowden is the regional Ambassador for the Utah area. He is a Professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and the director of the BYU Applied Biomechanical Engineering Laboratory. Dr. Bowden has been involved with the ORS for the last 20 years and has served in multiple capacities within the ORS and bioengineering community.
